libvncserver-dev software package provides API to write ones own vnc server - development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libvncserver-dev
libvncserver-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libvncserver-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libvncserver-dev *
You will get with libvncserver-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
